The IT Summit’s Los Angeles Information Technology Seminars
The IT Summit has been presenting it’s information technology seminars in Los Angeles since 2007. “Los Angeles” is something of a generic term that can refer to The City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, or the sprawling metropolitan area that includes literally dozens of other nearby cities and communities. Although not known principally as a mecca for tech companies, the Los Angeles basin is home to literally thousands of world-class companies who’s existence is facilitated by their information technology departments. Consequently, it is immediately understandable that The IT Summit’s Los Angeles Information Technology seminars offer plenty of opportunity for interaction with fellow Information Technology professionals during the show as well as a dazzling array of recreation and entertainment possibilities after you’ve spent the day at the seminar.

Popular media impacts our daily lives far beyond what most people realize. While their families were being rounded up and imprisoned without trial in internment camps by order of FDR, tens of thousands of Nisei Soldiers fought in the European campaigns against the Third Reich as members of the U.S. Army. Visit the Japanese American National Museum to learn about the contributions of Japanese-Americans to American society as well as the travails of the Nisei Soldiers who served in the U.S. Army during WW II and of their families held as prisoners in internment camps.
The Walt Disney Concert Hall is a music venue unlike any other you’ve experienced. The Concert Hall is home of the Los Angeles Symphony and presents the finest artists in the world performing their craft. The hall was a gift from Lillian Disney, widow of Walt Disney, to the people of Los Angeles and a tribute to Walt Disney’s devotion to the arts. The architectural design of Frank Gehry and the acoustical design of Yasuhisa Toyota resulted in one of the most architecturally and acoustically stunning halls in the world. In fact, it is reported that the acoustics are so finely tuned that they allowed symphony staff to discover that there were wrong notes in the printed music of a Ravel piece that sat on the musicians’ stands: The orchestra has owned these scores for decades, but prior to the orchestra taking residence at the WDCH no conductor had ever heard the inner details well enough to notice the errors. But even if the orchestra isn’t playing you can still enjoy the visual beauty of this unique structure.
A quiet get-away is always a welcome change, and that is what you can find at the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden. The garden, dedicated in April 1981 through the generosity of Mrs. Loraine Miller Collins, was created in memory of her late husband, Earl Burns Miller. It was the vision of Mrs. Miller-Collins that the garden be a place where visitors would "…be refreshed to meet the problems of the day." Stop by, spend some time in the gardens, sit by the lake and contemplate if the vision was fulfilled.
Most lighthouses are simple structures that bear a striking resemblance to monoliths, many made of stone or concrete; few are what most would consider examples of classic architectural design. Built in 1874, the Point Fermin Lighthouse is a quaint, Victorian-style structure that belays it’s utilitarian purpose. Stop by the 37-acre Point Fermin Park and Lighthouse for a visit and take in some of the best views along the Pacific coast.
