Introduced in 2012, The IT Summit’s Seattle Information Technology Seminars are well on their way to becoming one of Seattle’s premier IT events. Local Attractions

Aviation is important to the Seattle area. It is home to the Boeing Aircraft company and Boeing Field, which is host to the Museum of Flight. From the first primitive glider designed by the Wright brothers to the stealthy  “Blackbird” capable of at least Mach 3 and an 80,000 ft ceiling – the museum has assembled a massive collection of flying machines. If you have any interest in aviation history, this is a must-see.

Safeco Field is the home of the SeattlesMariners. Not only is it an amazing park, but even when the Mariners are not playing there is plenty to see. Visitors can tour places such as the visitor’s locker room, presidential suite, press box, press conference room, dugout and even the field itself. Safeco Field is a unique baseball field and deserving of a visit by any baseball fan.

Music, popular culture and…science fiction? Seattle’s EMP Museum is dedicated to the exploration of creativity and innovation in a variety of forms and formats and the links between those forms. This is not your typical museum.

Experts believed that monorails were going to change the face of transportation and be in nearly every major city around the world before now: It didn’t quite work out that way. Although many people know that Disneyland and Walt Disney world have monorails, many people do not know that Seattle has an operational monorail as part of its public transportation system. It’s an interesting and enjoyable ride…even if you aren’t going anywhere in particular.

Most people would consider used chewing gum something to be avoided and definitely not art.  The Market Theater Gum Wall is a local landmark in downtown Seattle that many consider a form of art. Is it really art, or just really disgusting? You will have to visit the Market Theater Gum Wall and decide for yourself. And while you’re there, check out an Unexpected Productions show at the theater.

Much of modern Seattle was built upon the ruins of old Seattle, consumed in the Great Seattle Fire of 1889. Bill Speidel’s Seattle Underground Tour a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath modern Seattle’s sidewalks and streets, showing you the Seattle that even most Seattleites do not know. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, you guide will regale you with the stories the town pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist.
