The IT Summit welcomes San Antonio to it 2013 information technology seminar series. Local Attractions
The San Antonio River Walk is a great way to combine the relaxation of a beautiful, scenic walk with shopping, dining and a wide variety of attractions and entertainment choices.
The fabled and infamous wooden nickel is a real thing and not just something your grandpa offered you as a kid. San Antonio’s Old Time Wooden Nickel Company is home to the Wooden Nickel Museum and the worlds largest wooden nickel which is redesigned each year in honor of a different non-profit organization, which promotes “American Values” & leadership.
There’s more to San Antonio that what is visible on the surface. Climb, crawl, rappel, or simply tour the underground wonder of San Antonio’s Natural Bridge Caverns. The caverns consist of two world-class cave with several exploration options available. While you are there you can also check out the Bracken Bat Flight, the worlds largest bat flight.
Franciscan Missions are an integral part of Texas history. San Antonio is home to numerous mission sites. Walk the San Antonio Mission Trail and visit just a few of these historic locations, including Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion and Mission Espada in addition to the Mission San Antonio de Valero, more commonly known now as “The Alamo”.
Nearly everyone is fascinated by classic trains and steam locomotives. At Brackenridge Park you can take a ride on their fabulous Brackenridge Eagle Miniature Train, a 1/5th scale replica of the original 1863 C.P. Huntington #3 train. You can ride it to simply take a 3.2 mile scenic tour of the park or to travel to the various attractions in the park.
