Mr. Baumann is responsible for developing and expanding close relationships with the Consulting and Engineering community in the American Southwest (California, Arizona and Nevada, New Mexico). He advises on effective and resource-optimized energy management solutions in the data center market. With his strong engineering background in the broadcast, telecommunications, AV and IT industry, he helped companies to position themselves for growth and success in these markets. Baumann held senior management positions with Barco, Leitch, Inc. (now Harris) and started his engineering career at JVC Professional as a systems and maintenance engineer. Additionally, Baumann’s knowledge and expertise has led to consulting positions with major broadcast corporations around the world, devising solutions to migrate and integrate their IT based digital infrastructures. Throughout his career, Baumann has developed and taught a number of classes on a diverse set of technological subjects in the fields of data centers, IT, telecommunications and signal processing and compression. His technical papers have been published in industry leading journals and he frequently speaks on national and international venues.
Baumann, who joined Schneider Electric in early 2012, serves on the board of AFCOM in Southern California, an organization for data center professionals and was chairman for The Global Society for Asset Management (G-SAM). He maintains close affiliations with different trade and engineering organizations that serve the IT, data center and telecommunication markets. Baumann holds an electrical engineering degree from the technical university in Giessen, Germany.
This presentation will focus on how Planning and optimizing utilization of actual physical infrastructure capacities via shared data center model, can be enabling efficient equipment provisioning and right-sizing of your data center.
Virtual environment integrations between Data Center Operation: Capacity and VMware and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
The integrations provide insight into how virtual machines relate to physical servers and their location, automatically migrating virtual machines to secure host environments from faulty infrastructure enabling customers to maintain Service Level Agreements and view and manage network health.
Ralph Johnson is the Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer for King County, Washington and President of the Holistic Information Security Practitioners Institute (HISPI) Governance Board. Mr. Johnson’s has been with King County for 23 years serving in multiple IT and management roles.
For the past 8 years Mr. Johnson has held the position of Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer in which he oversees information security and privacy issues for the entire county infrastructure. In this capacity he established the information assurance program from policy development to controls selection, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
He has held the position of HISPI Governance Board President since April of 2012 and served as Governance Board Secretary for three years prior to assuming his current role.
Mr. Johnson also serves on the Product Review Board for the Trusted Purchasing Alliance of the Multi State – Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) and is a member of the MS-ISAC’s Education and Awareness Committee and the National Association of Counties (Naco) Cyber-Security Task Force.
Mr. Johnson has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Eastern Oregon University and an Associate’s degree in Mortuary Science form San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.
He holds multiple certifications in information security, information privacy, network administration and project management.
This presentation introduces the essential goals of information security and presents success factors essential for a successful information security program. The audience will also be introduced to the HISPI (Holistic Information Security Practitioner Institute) framework and how this framework benefits organizations and individuals who chose to become trained and certified.
Sarath Geethakumar is a Chief Information Security Specialist at Visa Inc. Sarath heads & manages mobile security, ethical hacking & RedTeam programs at Visa Inc. He specializes in mobile platform and application security and is actively involved in security research around mobility. Sarath’s research activities have been instrumental in uncovering numerous security weaknesses with mobile device management solutions and platform security capabilities that were ethically disclosed to appropriate vendors. In addition to research, Sarath has also been a co-author for the book "Hacking Exposed Mobile" and an active member and contributor of OWASP web and mobile initiatives.
