With over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Todd Martin has spent nearly two decades working directly for top manufacturers such as IBM, NetApp, and Cisco. During the height of the collocation industry growth in the early 2000s, he worked at Exodus and LoudCloud. Today, Todd is a valued consulting engineer with Advanced Systems Group (ASG), where he focuses on architecting data center solutions for virtualized and converged systems.
Virtualizing the datacenter has been in progress for the past 15 years, but all virtualization paradigms have not been equally successful. Many of us have made great strides in the arena of Virtualized Compute, but in contrast many enterprises have made only minimal progress in other areas of datacenter virtualization. What is missing in most contemporary datacenters: Software Defined Storage: Object Store and Data Lifecycle Management and Software Defined Network: SDN Gateways and Policy Based Overlays And always important but changing, Software Defined Compute: Storage and Data Aware Hypervisors The three pillars of SDx paradigms and technologies, when integrated as a whole, provide a complete solution of an SDDC. Technology in this ecosystem is evolving fast and many software based solutions once thought cutting edge are now mature and robust enterprise class. Embracing all of the SDx technology tiers is completely necessary to realize the value of the automated datacenter. These products provide a federated control plane that can be leveraged for increased efficiency and automation that has never before been so attainable. ASG has analyzed many products in this space and can provide a perspective on the available technology benefits and how best to integrate all the components of an SDDC.

He has work alongside executives and security teams in all verticals of the private sector to help them understand and protect their security environments.
From insiders to sophisticated external attackers, the reality of cyber security today is that the threat is already inside. Legacy approaches to cyber security, which rely on knowledge of past attacks, are simply not sufficient to combat new, evolving attacks, and no human cyber analyst can watch so much or react quickly enough. A fundamentally new approach to cyber defense is needed to detect and investigate these threats that are already inside the network – before they turn into a full-blown crisis.
Self-learning systems represent a fundamental step-change in automated cyber defense, are relied upon by organizations around the world, and can cover up to millions of devices. Based on unsupervised machine learning and probabilistic mathematics, these new approaches to security can establish a highly accurate understanding of normal behavior by learning an organization’s ‘pattern of life,’. They can therefore spot abnormal activity as it emerges and even take precise, measured actions to automatically curb the threat.
Discover why unsupervised machine learning is the future of defense and how the ‘immune system’ approach to cyber security provides complete network visibility and the ability to prioritize threats in order to better allocate time and resources.
In this session, learn:
· How new machine learning and mathematics are automating advanced cyber defense
· Why full network visibility allows you to detect threats as or before they emerge
· How smart prioritization and visualization of threats allows for better resource allocation and lower risk
· Real-world examples of unknown threats detected by ‘immune system’ technology
