Ty Howard is an experienced C-Level professional with over 17 years of business-technology leadership experience. Certified as Project Management Professional (PMP) Ty received the PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Excellence Award in 2005 for his influence in creating a project management office (PMO) for the city government of Chandler, Arizona. Additionally, he was recognized by CIO magazine’s IT Leaders to Watch, as well as Computer World magazine’s Top IT Leaders.
Ty is the CIO for the State of Arizona Department of Water Resources, a Senior Faculty member at Keller Graduate School of Management, and is also ramping up an entrepreneurial effort related to social media. As the Director of Business and Technology (CIO) for the State Ty has developed a PMO, started an intern program for project managers and is actively involved in facilitating steering committees that allocate funds for projects and he has been part of a statewide CIO council that steers IT solutions in Arizona.
Ty Howard is a strong executive board room level communicator as well as an expert in analytical skills with the ability to “turn around” an organization. Recognized in both IT fields and Project Management as a change agent, Ty possesses a working knowledge of industry best practices, experienced in managing projects, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experienced in leading organizations through change. Ty founded Biz-Nova, Consulting (www.biz-nova.com), a firm that specializes in advancement solutions (course offerings) for the “New Economy’s Business Professional.” Ty balances his professional and personal activities by treating life as a project, “I WBS (use work breakdown structures) like crazy!”
