About The Speaker
Mark Spencer is a senior security engineer and section manager with Northrop Grumman Corporation in Colorado Springs. He has over 17 years experience in Information Assurance. He was mentioned in Who’s Who in Information Technology for 2000. He holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential, awarded in 1997, and the Information Assurance Methodology (IAM) and INFOSEC Evaluation Methodology (IEM) certifications from the National Security Agency (NSA). He has been the mentor for many new security engineers and security project lead for dozens of projects. He holds a BS in Education from Miami University. He has an MA in Management and Supervision from Central Michigan University. Mark is active in several professional capacities, including Vice President of the Colorado Springs chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), a member of the Security Advisory Board of Colorado Technical University, and a member of the Industry Advisory Boards for the Hasan Department of Business of Colorado State University in Pueblo. He is also an adjunct professor in Information Security at Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs. Mark was selected for the Information Systems Security Association Honor Roll for 2005. He assumed the position of President of the Colorado Springs ISSA Chapter in May of 2007.
