Topic Synopsis: Changing Role of the CIO
As the role of the CIO shifts from a technology-focused position to a cornerstone function that enables business strategy to thrive, new challenges have arisen along with new strategies to achieve success. Rather than simply managing systems integration and IT operations, CIOs today provide the CEO, CFO and the board of directors with the infrastructure to support the business and allow it to grow, which, if not executed effectively, can have devastating implications for the company. In this presentation, CIO Marsha Williams, of Tatum, LLC, will discuss real examples of the challenges CIOs face in this new role, as well as strategies and steps to overcome obstacles and become the new technology business leader.
