The evolution of the data center, it’s the fundamental evolution of traditional data center design and operation that creates a sustainable advantage for conducting business. It’s a new paradigm that is changing the industry. While the traditional raised floor paradigm has proven an effective model for decades, there are clear advantages to adopting a modular approach to design and the technology deployed.
In this presentation, FORTRUST will present:
• The key factors that lead FORTRUST to adopt a new and more modular approach to data center design and capacity delivery as it relates to a MTDC service provider
• The due diligence process that FORTRUST underwent and that subsequently enabled them to change their paradigm in favor of a modular approach to the design and delivery of data center infrastructure and capacity
• Advantages to both the Multi-tenant data center services provider and the customer or end user
• Elements of the TCO model FORTRUST used comparing a traditional raised floor design vs. a modular design utilizing IO Anywhere Data Modules

Steve Jordahl joined Coraid after spending 5+ years at Citrix Systems. Steve has an extensive background in virtualization, storage, and building cloud architectures. He is based locally in Denver, CO.
Dynamic, virtualized environments are driving storage architectures to adopt the scale-out model of the cloud, offering commodity hardware economics and greatly simplified operations. Unfortunately, legacy storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center. Companies that utilize a modern architecture can leverage off-the-shelf hardware, standard Ethernet, and distributed storage processing to enable a building block approach to scalability – no forklift upgrades required. Come learn more about the Coraid architecture, OpenStack integration, and how to strategize on both the financial & economical side of your storage infrastructure.
Michael B. Hancock became Denver’s 45th mayor in July 2011 and immediately launched Peak Performance efforts that will save the city $10 million a year annually. His strategy for making government more efficient, effective and customer-service oriented laid the ground work for his plan to transform Denver into a “Smart City” that is innovative and intentional, particularly with regard to jobs, kids and safety.
In just his first year in office, Mayor Hancock worked with Congressional, State and regional leaders to land one of four satellite U.S. Patent and Trade Mark Offices for downtown Denver. The Patent Office will generate nearly $440 million in economic impact over the next five years while placing Denver on the cutting edge of technology and bolstering the region’s burgeoning high-tech sectors and job growth.
To support businesses, Mayor Hancock and his team created the JumpStart 2012 economic development plan, which is making strategic investments in Denver’s local businesses and neighborhoods. The program has allowed businesses such as Colorado Premium meatpacking to keep 185 jobs in Denver, with plans to double that number in the next few years. JumpStart 2012 is also attracting new businesses to the city, including SCL Health Systems and a new Southwest Airlines pilot base.

Brent Stark has worked as a Cisco Certified Premier Partner for telepresence and digital signage. He closely helped Cisco Enterprise clients to facilitate the design and sale of large telepresence projects including Immersive rooms, multipurpose rooms, personal telepresence, and Cisco Telepresence Infrastructure applications. His unique understanding of video networks and the audio/video/network standards required lead to many successful implementations of quality video on a private network. Brent now is expanding on this video background by providing network audio solutions as the Southwest Regional Manager for Biamp Systems. Based in Arizona, Brent oversees all sales and operations throughout Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. Brent has extensive experience in designing large scale projects in multiple industries. Brent understands the challenges and opportunities presented as the IT industry now encompasses Audio and Video solutions in the enterprise space.
At this year’s IT Summit in Denver, Biamp Systems Regional Sales Manager Brent Stark will present on the topic of Networked Buildings.
Central to his presentation will be application-specific examples about networking audio and video systems throughout a single building (or across multiple facilities) to create a Networked Building.
By utilizing existing networks, it’s possible (and more cost-effective) to achieve clear, crisp audio for teleconferencing, video conferencing, public address, voice evacuation, and background music systems.
After Brent’s presentation in Tech Theater II from 10:20-11:05am, stop by the Biamp booth to learn more about Tesira, the industry’s first truly scalable media system for digital audio networking using AVB, which Brent will be demonstrating.
A network veteran for over 20 years, Mr. Kaplan has spent his career making networks hum. With years under his belt as both a CISO (Verisign and Breakaway Solutions), as well as an executive for network services vendors (Guardent, Mazu Networks, norSEC, Riverbed Technologies), Mr. Kaplan is fluent in both the expectations placed upon practitioners today, as well as how to implement and run an effective operations center.
Applications are the life blood of an organization, but applications don’t run in a vacuum. There are many things that can affect application performance – poorly performing databases, storage, infrastructure, the network, and more. Since the network is the backplane for distributed applications, it is the ideal vantage point for monitoring performance. It provides the best combined breadth and depth into ap¬plication performance, as well as visibility into the relationship between infrastructure and applications. Because of this, network managers are being asked to take a larger role monitoring and troubleshooting application performance.
Attend this session to learn how and why the role of network managers is expanding and how you can get ahead of the challenge.

At Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) customers come first and an integral part of our DNA is creating long-lasting customer partnerships and working with them to identify their needs and provide solutions that support their success.
The concept of solutions being driven to address specific customer challenges has been with Cisco since its inception. Husband and wife Len Bosack and Sandy Lerner, both working for Stanford University, wanted to email each other from their respective offices located in different buildings but were unable to due to technological shortcomings. A technology had to be invented to deal with disparate local area protocols; and as a result of solving their challenge – the multi-protocol router was born.
Since then Cisco has shaped the future of the Internet by creating unprecedented value and opportunity for our customers, employees, investors and ecosystem partners and has become the worldwide leader in networking – transforming how people connect, communicate and collaborate.
