The IT Summit produces technology conferences for executives from the government, education, and corporate sectors. Jamie Yancy is VP, IT Manager & Security Officer; Jamie’s professional career might best be described as eclectic. Jamie has worked in the IT industry since 1977 as a communicator for the United States Navy. In 1984 he worked for the Argonne National Laboratory and had a key role the redesign of the USDOE Secure Automated Communications Network (SACNET) Jamie also, participated in the government wide Neutral Particle Beam experiment. He has provided communications support for the National Science Foundation experiments at ANL. Jamie in 1990 and began working with Rockwell International and EG&G; providing management of communications at the Rocky Flats Facility Mr. Yancy was a key member of the Rocky flats Leadership academy. He has also served as The Chief Technology Officer for United Western Bancorp. In addition, he Co-Founded a Denver based DSL provider Broadband Solutions and designed and operated the network for a International long distance provider VDC, Built call centers for Teletech. Networks for Matrix Bancorp, Inc. and Legent Clearing and the list. And recently, co-founded Novitious LLC an IT consulting company. Jamie holds a number of certifications including a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and is a member of ISACA, ASIS, and ISSA.
Technologist who has served as CTO/CIO on two successful startups, worked in various management capacities for vendors, and led transformation of enterprise and service provider organizations.
Currently at Aruba Networks leading an innovative boutique services practice. Worked at Cisco Systems, AT&T, Avaya, Raytheon, and Comcast. Startups include: INFLOW and Juris Communications. Co-author on two patents while at Bell Labs, and one pending co-authored patent at Comcast.
Primary expertise in security, networking, and IT Operations. Advisor to the FBI, DHS, DOE, NSA, White House, and Department of the Navy.
Personal time: spending time with my wife of 30+ years, talking to my kids as adults, road cycling, walking the dog, and taking long cruises in the Mediterranean.
Scott Magerfleisch is the Director of Information Technology for the City of Thornton, Colorado’s sixth largest city. Scott has spent the last 12 years working within IT inside the public sector and most recently has focused on leadership development and technology innovations within IT.
In 2016, the City of Thornton embarked on a new direction in Cybersecurity, leveraging Machine Learning for the very first time. Hear how the City of Thornton deployed and tested DarkTrace, as well as learn the tips and tools used to justify and validate the next gen solution for budget consideration and approval.

Bob Noel is Director of Strategic Partnerships at Plixer. Noel has over 20 years’ experience in networking and security technologies, having spent time in senior roles with industry leaders such as Cisco, Cabletron, Extreme Networks, and Plixer. Noel is an international speaker, highly sought for his knowledge of network architectures and security, next-generation data centers and virtualization, and the emerging dynamics of Software Defined Networking. His background expands sales, systems engineering, training, technology alliance, and marketing leadership positions. Noel is currently located at Plixer’s headquarters in Kennebunk, ME.
Although the concepts of artificial intelligence and machine learning are not new, they have recently garnered mainstream attention. As is normal in the technology space, the initial hype makes it sound like a panacea and vendors are scrambling to hitch their marketing messages to it. This session will help you differentiate fact from folly and arm you with specific questions you can ask vendors as you evaluate new solutions and navigate the landscape of all things cyber.
Daniel Erlenbusch, is the Director of IT at PENRAD Imaging in Colorado Springs, CO. He has been with PENRAD for over 17 years. He is also the HIPAA Security Officer for PENRAD. Before that, he taught Elementary Education for 8 years in Colorado Springs, CO. He is very passionate about technology and loved to teach children how to make webpages.
Susie Peppers is the Assistant Director of Information Technology at Front Range Community College. Susie oversees all aspects of Information Technology Service delivery activities. She is responsible for identifying opportunities to develop systems and technologies that will enhance operational efficiencies and revenue opportunities.
Susie has been working extensively to create active learning technology classrooms to increase student productivity. For Susie, helping students is the most rewarding part of her job.
Susie has a Master’s of Science degree specializing in Information Technology Management from Regis University. She also teaches as an adjunct instructor for the Business department at Front Range Community College.
In her spare time, Susie enjoys hiking, biking, reading and yoga.

Jeff Patterson is currently the Executive Vice-President of operations and technology at ANB Bank. There he leads all technology groups, deposit operations, payments, online banking, treasury management, marketing, risk and compliance for the bank.
Before coming to ANB Bank, Jeff was Senior Vice-President at MidFirst Bank where he led deposit operations, payments, debit cards, ACH processing, deposit loss prevention, reconciliations, statement and notice printing, remittance processing, treasury management customer support and core and platform technology systems.
Prior to this, Jeff served as Vice-President of Customer Care and Development and Managing Systems Architect for American Bank Systems, Inc. where he was responsible for the development efforts of the ABS suite of products, oversaw the customer support functions and managed the design, administration and maintenance of the technology infrastructure.
Jeff co-founded his first software development company in 1984 and has since started or participated in the creation of five technology companies. He has presented classes on secure application development, database design, database administration and risk management.
